Per Nicotinell TTS-10 Nicotine 17.5 mg. Per Nicotinell TTS-20 Nicotine 35 mg. Per Nicotinell TTS-30 Nicotine 52.5 mg

Indications/Uses

Aid to smoking cessation; reduces addictive behaviour & the various withdrawal symptoms in nicotine-dependent smokers.

Dosage/Direction for Use

The patient should stop smoking completely when starting treatment w/ Nicotinell TTS. Initiate treatment w/ Nicotinell TTS 30 or TTS 20 & reduce in stages. Heavy smokers Nicotinell TTS 30 followed by Nicotinell TTS 20 & finally Nicotinell TTS 10 for about 4 wk in each case. Moderate smokers Nicotinell TTS 20 for about 8 wk & Nicotinell TTS 10 for about 4 wk.

Overdosage

View Nicotinell TTS-10/Nicotinell TTS-20/Nicotinell TTS-30 overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity of the skin to nicotine or 1 of the components of TTS. Systemic skin diseases; unstable or worsening angina pectoris; acute MI; severe cardiac arrhythmias; recent CVA. Pregnancy & lactation.

Special Precautions

Use w/ caution in patients w/: Stable angina pectoris, status post-MI, occlusive peripheral arterial diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, arrhythmias, heart failure, disturbance of renal or hepatic function, DM, HTN, hyperthyroidism, peptic ulcer.

Mild erythema & pruritus; headache, frequently dizziness, nausea & sleep disturbances; flu-like symptoms.
